My name is Kristen and I am the owner and voice of Cupcakes and Margaritas- 2 of my most favorite things, mostly the Margaritas if I’m honest. I’m so glad you’ve come across my blog and I hope you’re as excited as I am that you’re here!
I love to cook, to bake, to craft and be creative, to travel, and to spend time with my loved ones. I’m not a writer by any means, so I’m really nervous that I will sound silly and mess this whole thing up but I am here to try! My life’s intentions are: go to the gym at least 3 times per week and cook dinner every night. These seem to be my greatest struggles lately but I am a work in progress. I am aiming to keep myself accountable and look forward to sharing my journey with you- the good, the bad, and the ugly.
I was born and raised in Massachusetts and currently still live here with my husband and my cat baby, Tigger. We also share custody of his 2 children with their mom and they live with us 2 days a week. Growing up, I had always said that I would NEVER date a man with children but never say never, I guess. We met a little over 3 years ago at work and just got married in July! I consider myself to be extremely lucky with the way things have worked out in our relationship <3. I love his children, they love me, and we have a great relationship with their mom which I had always thought was impossible for this type of arrangement.
I’m a pharmacy technician by day, currently working in clinical pharmacy for an insurance company. I have been a pharmacy technician for all of my working career, which I started off in retail pharmacy about 15 years ago. By night, I am usually exhausted so as well-intentioned as I am, I am not as productive as I would like to be. I’m sure we can all relate to that at one point in our lives or another, am I right?!
I also run an Etsy shop called “Daughter Knows Best, Co.” where I sell products that I design with my mom. On the weekends I try to get most of my errands done and am trying to get into the habit of cooking or, at the very least, prepping for the week. Instead of scrolling through social media every night, I have started to read daily. I have always enjoyed reading but had only read when traveling usually. I’m happy to say that I have been successful in making this change in my life and I plan to stick with it. Baby steps.
I hope you will stick around and take this journey with me!
Please feel free to contact me if you have questions or suggestions for what you would like to see on the blog. I look forward to hearing from you!!
